RCHS serves Riley and surrounding counties by providing a variety of programs. These programs include educational programs benefiting elementary schools, informational booths and displays at special community events, animal cruelty investigations, spay/neuter/release for feral cats, participation in fairs and events sponsored by national animal welfare organizations to promote responsible pet ownership, and our fostering program. January-February
Prevent-a-litter Campaign: Rebate coupons are published in area newspapers for spay or neuter surgery.
March
Community Fair: Information booth staffed at Manhattan Town Center Mall.
July
Dog Daze of Summer: Information booth staffed at Manhattan Town Center Mall.
August
Homeless Animals Day Candlelight Vigil: In remembrance of the many animals who die in shelters each year. This event is usually held at a local park and several community leaders and RCHS members speak and light candles.
September
Yard Sale: Fundraiser to benefit RCHS programs. McCall Storage donates space for this event.
October-November
Winter Straw Give Away - Straw is provided to owners of animals housed outside to insulate their pet's houses. Held at Reliable Transfer and Storage.
December
Santa Paws: Pets and children can get their pictures taken with Santa. Pictures are placed in framed greeting cards and cost $5. Proceeds benefit RCHS programs.
